SPECIALIST DISABILITY ACCOMODATION

2 years ago the Empowered Liveability team as well as the 10 properties in 10 years team embarked on a journey to stop young people with disabilities, who were living in hospitals, nursing homes, motels or worse… from entering Aged Care.

Today, along with our partners at Empowered Liveability, we represent some of the countries leading housing companies when it comes to Specialist Disability Accomodation not just in Melbourne, but around Australia.

Our team and our partners embraced the opportunities provided by the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme’s Specialist Disability Accommodation funding, and have been able to make an impact, with 20 houses already completed to date, which will become dream homes to 60 people with complex needs.

We helped one of our investors create a Specialist Disability Accomodation called Brilliant House, and this is the first home to open in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne, with three female tenants, who have chosen where they live, how they live, and who they live with, and we have committed to supporting them to Live On Their Terms.

We were honoured to have the wonderful Minister For Housing Michael Sukkar MP – Member for Deakin officially opening the house, along with Mayor Cr Carly Moore from Hume City Council
